2 killed during Bisket Jatra celebrations

BHAKTAPUR, April 10:: Two persons were killed and eight others injured when a three-storey pagoda style chariot of Bhairav ran over them during the Bisket Jatra celebrations at Taumadhi in Bhaktapur on Wednesday.



The deceased have been identified as Rukesh Silakar, 18, from Taumadhi of Bhaktapur-16 and Dhirendra Silpakar, 22 from Jela of Bhaktapur-2. The incident took place at around 9 pm when the locals of upper and lower Taumadhi tried to take the chariot to their respective localities.[break]



Ashish Suwal, 22 of Nasmana, Bhaktapur-14 who was also run over by the chariot was rushed to Kathmandu Medical College for treatment, according to SP Dilip Kumar Chaudhary of Metropolitan Police Range office, Bhaktapur.
