Aunt and niece murdered after looting in Baitadi

MAHENDRANAGAR, Jan 5: The bodies of 40-year-old Pashupati Pela and her 14-year-old niece Shanti Kumari Pela were found at Bagchana jungle of Dashrathchand Municipality-6 of Baitadi District. Baitadi police suspect that the victims were murdered after being looted as gold jewelry and Rs 13,000 cash were missing from the victims. [break]



According to family sources, Pashupati had gone to her parents’ house at Khadeni along with her niece Shanti on Dec 31. Since they didn’t return home for quite a while, they were searched. Police suspect that both were murdered after being raped and looted. The bodies of the two were handed over to their family after post mortem on Sunday.
