Talking to party activists in Biratnagar Thursday, Koirala said that the neighboring countries must positively help Nepal in the constitution-making process. “China and India have to help in Nepal´s constitution-drafting process. If there is fire at the neighbor´s house, it will affect all surrounding areas,” Koirala said.
Claiming that the constitution will be formulated within stipulated time, he requested all not to have doubts. “Constitution will be written within the given timeframe,” Koirala added.
Koirala was of the view that lasting peace will be established and development works will speed up after the new constitution is formulated.
Stating that there is a huge divide between the rich and the poor, Koirala said that the country cannot be divided into federal states on the basis of ethnicity, “The divide between the rich and the poor will increase if the state is divided on the basis of ethnicity,” Koirala said.
Koirala, who reached his hometown Biratnagar on Wednesday to relax, met his party cadres only on Thursday. He is scheduled to return to the capital on Friday.
