KATHMANDU, June 30: Zhang Jiuhuan, a politburo member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and former ambassador to Nepal (November 1995-May 1998) is arriving in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Jiuhuan´s visit, however, has been kept highly confidential by both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. The MoFA said that it has no formal knowledge of the visit. "Nothing official has been said about the visit," Madan Kumar Bhattarai, the spokesperson said.

However, a Chinese Embassy official told myrepublica.com that the former ambassador is scheduled to meet Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala on Wednesday. He will also hold talks with the prime minister and top political leaders in coming days, the source added.
