Chinese Foreign Minister Wang, who is also a State Councilor, is visiting Kathmandu from March 25 to 27 at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart, Dr Narayan Khadka.
This is the first visit of a high-ranking Chinese official to Nepal since Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba became the Prime Minister.
During the visit, Minister Wang is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The visit of a top diplomat of the northern neighbor is seen with much interest as the visit takes place shortly after the parliamentary ratification of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact Agreement — a US-funded grant agreement.
