KATHMANDU, Feb 21: Renowned researcher of Nepali literature Shiva Regmi passed away on Wednesday. He was 78.
Regmi died of brain hemorrhage at Kathmandu Medical College at Sinamangal in the capital, according to family sources. He was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat later in the afternoon.
Late Regmi edited several books including Bhupi Sherchanka Kavita and Gorkhapatra Kaa Ek Saya Ek Nibandha—a collection of 101 essays published in Gorkhapatra from 1968 to 1999.
Madan Puraskar Guthi awarded him the Jagadamba Shree Puraskar 2070.
In addition to that, he was an author of several books. Regmi was a source for many for writing stories on Nepali literature.
