59,298 people will be made literate in Banke by 2015

NEPALGUNJ, Oct. 26: The District Education Office (DEO), Banke, aims to make some 59,298 illiterate people literate by 2015, said Under Secretary Bishnu Prasad Adhikary at the DEO, Banke.



Some 28,000 people will be made literate by this fiscal year 2070/71 BS in the district, said an office source.



The Government of Nepal aims to make all Nepalese literate by 2015. [break]



As per its preparations, literacy program have been launched at Kohalpur, Shamshergunj, Jayaspur, Kamdi, Saigaun, Matahaiya, Phattepur, Puraini, Rajhena and Kachanapur VDCs and all the 17 wards in Nepalgunj Municipality in the district.



It is noted that 13,114 people were made literate last year though the target was for making 15,500 people literate in the district.
