Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is organizing the fair to identify and promote tourist destinations of in the far-western development region. [break]
All nine districts of the region are showcasing their historical, religious and cultural attractions through their respective stalls at the fair.
Inaugurating the fair, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Post Bahadur Bogati admitted that the government had failed to exploit tourism potential of the region to the fullest. “Religious, cultural and natural diversity of this region can attract many tourists,” he said, expressing commitment to bring programs for development of this region.
Local tourism entrepreneur Sanjaya Chaudhary said the event would necessary information about all nine districts of the region. “It is a good initiative for tourism promotion,” he added.
The fair has 30 stalls showcasing cultural and natural attractions of the region. Apart from that, the fair also provides information on home stay tourism among others.
Khapatad National Park, Api and Saipal mountains, Ghodaghodi Lake, and Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve are some of the popular tourist destinations of far-western region.
The three-day event is concluding on Sunday.
