Ayush Bista, managing director of Birang Trading, said the company has introduced different type of Sawyer water filters that can filter any type of impurities in water and make it suitable for drinking. [break]
“Sawyer water filter is the first of its kind product in the Nepali market,” said Bista.
The company has introduced different models like PointOne Filter, Squeeze Filter, PontZero Two Purifier, 10-inch Filter Unit and Sawyer 4Way Water Filter.
“All these filters use Hollow Fiber Membrane -- a technology developed for kidney dialysis. The filters are comprised of tiny U-shaped micro tubes that allow water to enter into their cores through tiny micro pores that prevent harmful bacteria which causes like cholera, typhoid, protozoa and cysts,” said Bista.
According to the company, Sawyer water filters are very easy to use as people can simply pour water they want to purify in the filter and drink it. “There is no need of pumping or adding chemicals in the filter,” it said.
Sawyer water filters are available in price range of Rs 7,000 to Rs 330,000 depending on the model and the capacity.
Water filters are currently available at Birang Trading´s office in Jwagal.
“We will soon be making them available in departmental stores in the valley as well as in major cities,” said Bista.
