58 percent of total COVID-19 patients in Nepal hail from Province 2

LAHAN, Aug 20: With 392 more cases of COVID-19 detected on Wednesday, COVID-19 tally in Province 2 has reached 7,892. This accounts for 58 percent of the total COVID-19 cases recorded in Nepal.

LAHAN, Aug 20: With 392 more cases of COVID-19 detected on Wednesday, COVID-19 tally in Province 2 has reached 7,892. This accounts for 58 percent of the total COVID-19 cases recorded in Nepal.


Parsa district alone has 1,639 cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday. The number stands at 518 in Bara, 1,506 in Rautahat, 1,057 in Sarlahi, 1,045 in Mahottari, 1,152 in Dhanusha, 289 in Siraha and 682 in Saptari districts.

As many as 50 individuals have already succumbed to the novel coronavirus diseases in the Province 2. Likewise, 3,876 COVID-19 patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment in various hospitals in Province 2.


On Wednesday alone, Province 2 recorded 392 new cases of COVID-19, while 86 people, who had earlier tested positive for the virus, recovered successfully and returned home.
