Two and half year sentence for rape attempt

SURKHET, Jan 8: Surkhet District Court sentenced a two and half-year jail term to a 35-year-old man for attempting to rape a girl in Surkhet. Judge Kul Prasad Sharma issued the verdict yesterday.

Yam Bahadur Pun of Lekhgau, Surkhet has been convicted for attempting to rape a girl in September 1, 2011. [break]

However, Sharma has already been released in bail. DSP Binod Ghimire said that the culprit will be rearrested and sentenced as per the court verdict.
