Addressing an interaction organized by the Reporters´ Club Nepal in the capital on Friday, the Chinese envoy said his country has pursued a policy of maintaining amicable relations and partnership with its neighbors. [break]
“China is making efforts to consolidate good neighborly friendship and mutual beneficial cooperation and make all its development benefit neighboring countries,” he said.
The envoy said Nepal-China relations had gained momentum in recent days. Stating that trade between Nepal-China had witnessed a steady growth, he said Chinese investors had spent money in various infrastructure and other development projects in Nepal.
Stating that China has made investments in West Seti Hydropower Project and is planning investments in other projects, ambassador Yang said he would continue to encourage qualified Chinese investors to make investments in Nepal.
“We have a solid foundation for further cooperation,” he said, adding that the relations between Nepal and China have remained cordial despite the political change in both the countries.
On a separate note, the envoy expressed confidence that political parties in Nepal would soon be able to reach consensus so as to resolve the existing political deadlock. "We respect the decision of Nepali people," he said.
