The nuns, along with the owners of the house where they had stayed on the day of looting, had arrived in Dolakha to testify in the case. The nuns have said that they have been receiving constant threats from a group of youths associated to the accused Mukhiya and Magar. According to the nuns, the group of around 17 youths also threatened them right inside the court room.
"You will face a dire consequence if you speak against us. Don´t underestimate our gang," said one of the nuns Chhimeyangehhen, quoting one of the gang members as saying in the court room just before the court proceedings began. The gang also threatened others who were accompanying the nuns to the court. The group had dispersed after body guard of the district judge shooed them away.
One of the two accomplice of the defendants, who also threatned the nuns on Monday, has been arrested on Monday. Police inspector Govinda Jha said that the youth involved in threatening the nuns will be tried under Public Offence Act.
