Indian official ends Nepal visit

KATHMANDU, June 9: Satish Mehta, the joint-secretary of India´s Ministry of External Affairs and the chief of the Nepal desk returned to New Delhi after a three-day visit to Nepal. During his stay, he attended the meeting of the Institute of Advisory Authority of the B P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, the Indian Embassy said on Tuesday.



Mehta also visited the Manmohan Memorial Polytechnic in Biratnagar, which is being established with Indian assistance of IRs 260 million. The embassy also informed that Mehta visited the Emergency and Trauma Center at the capital´s Bir Hospital, which was also built with Indian assistance.



Mehta is also learnt to have met with some senior political leaders during his trip. He met Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala after the signing of four MoUs with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the SAARC cooperation framework Monday. The embassy denied further details of his meetings with other political parties´ leaders.
