TANAHUN, Sept 24: Ex-king Gyanendra Shah is due to arrive the Panchayan temple and the Byas cave on Monday as part of  his week-long ‘religious trip’.

On Sunday, the former king had visited Dhaneshwor Mahadev temple in Putalibazaar of Syangja district. The previous day, he had  also visited the Kalika temple and the Gayatri temple in Baglung and Parbat districts and offered his prayers.

Meanwhile, protesting Shah’s visit in the district, local cadres of the main political parties have enforced an hour long chakkjam starting from 7 am to 8 am along the Prithvi Highway this morning.

Various political parties in the region have been holding protest programs with intent of barring Shah from visiting their districts.

The former monarch is currently on a ‘religious trip’ to Gandaki and Dhaulagiri zones. He has been staying at Fishtail Lodge at Lakeside ever since he arrived in Pokhara for the visit.
