Shrestha falters on Day II

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Nepal No 1 professional golfer Shiva Ram Shrestha failed to maintain his rhythm on the second day of the PGTI Players Championship on Wednesday and slipped to the sixth position.



Shrestha was the overnight leader as he had carded six-under 66 at the par-72 Golden Green Golf Club, Gurgaon, India on Tuesday. However, he faltered to three-over 75 on Wednesday.[break]



Shrestha is the only Nepali golfer participating in the championship under the Professional Golf Tour of India.



Mukesh Kumar of India climbed to the top of the leaderboard with a total of seven-under 137 after carding three-under 69 and four-under 68 respectively on Tuesday and Wednesday.



Om Prakash Chauhan (six-under 138) is in the second position while Ranjit Singh Rathore, MD Sanju and Shubhankar Sharma share the third position with a total of four-under 140. Sanjay Kumar and Shamim Khan share the sixth position with Nepali pro Shrestha with a total of three-under 141.
