4th National Tourism Fair concludes

KATHMANDU, June 12: The fourth National Tourism Fair organized with the objective of promoting domestic tourism concluded on Sunday. The three-day event had a total of 95 stalls.



The fair had stalls of 62 districts along with stalls of different travel related associations, government agencies, handicraft producers, NGOs, educational institutions and private companies.



The main attraction of the fair was a model house, showcasing home-stay dorm; live handicraft stalls; handicraft produced in different districts and attractive tour packages.



The three-day event saw total footfall of 65,000, according to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). The event was organized jointly by NTB and Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 Program Implementing Committee.



L B Baniya, coordinator of the event, said the main objective of the event was to promote domestic tourism. “ The number of participants and enquiries on tour packages show that the event was a big success,” he added.
