Private Sector investment pours into Dolakha

DOLAKHA, Aug 16: Dozens of new factories have started operation in Dolakha. The new factories which recently started operation include plywood, mineral water and dairy factories while several more projects are either near completion or in the pipeline.



Dibya Plywood recently started operations with the investment of Rs 140 million. [break]The factory has a capacity to manufacture one truckload of plywood a day and is planning to increase its capacity. More than 150 people are working in this factory.



Likewise, Kalinchowk Mineral Water company came into operation in Lakuridanda VDC of the district. Other local entreprenerus are also showing interest to open mineral water companies.



Dairy farmers have started Cow Farm and Research Centre by investing Rs 100 million. The centre, spead over 1,500 hectare of land, owns 500 cows and is equipped with modern technology for cattle rearing.



A hydropower project promoted by Murarka group in Charnawati River is also in its final stages. When completed, the power plant will generate 3.6 MW of electircity. “We have started preparation for generating additional 6 MW electricity,” said project promoter Pashupati Murarka.



Entrepreneur Balkrishna Shiwakoti who is operating a plywood factor said that there was a huge potential for tourism in the district. “We are planning to operate a three-star hotel in near future,” he said.
