KATHMANDU, July 24: Senior leader of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that no political force would last long if that makes attempts to run the country by infringing fundamental norms and values of democracy.

Speaking at a program on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Pushpalal Memorial College in the capital on Tuesday, leader Nepal said the UCPN (Maoist) was effortful to run the state mechanisms by going against the democratic norms and values.[break]

The UML leader said, "Ruling parties are active to elongate the political transition in the country by dissolving the Constituent Assembly. This is not a good option by any means."

The former prime minister also said that the government announcement to the CA elections on November 22 was merely a chimera as the election was announced by breaching the Interim Constitution 2063 B.S.

He said, "Other parties would not be victims of compulsion of CA election if holding the CA election was the compulsion of a particular political party. So, all should be ready for consensus."

Leader Nepal was of the opinion that political stability was required for the development of education, health and physical infrastructures.

On the occasion, he said academic institutions should work hard to offer employment-generating education so that problem of unemployment would be reduced in the country.
