KATHMANDU, Sept 11: 47 days have elapsed since Nirmala Pant, 13, of Bhimdutta Municiaplity-2, of Kanchanpur district was found dead a day after she went missing. But the question that still looms large is: who is the culprit behind this heinous crime?
Sadly, police authorities, despite their commitment to book the guilty, have achieved precious little to trace the culprit yet, leaving human rights activists and ordinary public grossly disappointed with the way they are handling the case.
While the negligence shown by the police in different phases of investigation of the case has raised serious doubts over the police probe, the resignation by a member of the High-Level Probe Committee formed to investigate into the murder on Monday added a new twist to the case.
