KATHMANDU, Aug 28: The Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa district has caused a major loss of life.
469 bodies recovered, search and rescue operations continue
According to details released by Nepal Police as of 7 am Friday, a total of 469 bodies have been recovered from various districts. Of the bodies recovered, 12 were found in Rasuwa, 33 in Dhading, 44 in Gorkha, 110 in Nawalparasi East, 37 in Nuwakot, 178 in Chitwan, 28 in Tanahun and 27 in Nawalparasi West.
The number of people injured and rescued from the disaster has reached 1,545. Of them, 644 were rescued in Rasuwa, 898 in Nuwakot and three in Dhading. In addition, 84 injured people have either been receiving treatment or discharged from hospitals in Kathmandu Valley.
A total of 4,348 security personnel have so far been deployed in flood-affected areas. Meanwhile, 28 police personnel remain out of contact.
