45 injured in Nawalparasi bus accident

BUTWAL, Jan 21: A total of 45 people were injured when a bus carrying Indian pilgrims crashed in West Nawalparasi.


Indian bus (UP 16 AFT 7466) which was returning to India after pilgrimage to Triveni Dham Mela, had an accident on the inner road section of Rampurwa near Palhinandan Rural Municipality-1, Jharhikhola of Nawalparasi.

According to Nawalparasi district police office, 45 out of 60 Indian pilgrims were injured when the bus fell 10 meters from the road.


Police Inspector Meghnath Chapagain of the District Police Office said that the injured were sent to the district hospital in Parasi.


He said that the condition of one of the injured is serious while the condition of the others is normal.


He said that the driver of the bus was also injured and undergoing treatment. Similarly, an investigation into the accident has also started.
