TULSIPUR, July 2: Incessant rain for the past two days has affected the life in Dang. Flooding in over one dozen seasonal rivers along the Tulsipur-Ghorahi-Lamahi road section has disrupted transport.
As stated by Area Police Office, Khilatpur's chief inspector Dactor Prasad Chaudhary, the flooded Twang River at Babai Rural Municipality-5 in west Dang swept away a passenger bus (Na 1 Kha 1861) as it was heading to Tulsipur from Bagale. However, the incident caused no human casualty.
Though a few of large motor vehicles were seen on the street this morning, the roads remained empty because of increasing level of waters in local rivers. Settlements near the Rapti and Babai rivers have been urged to remain alert to the possibility of water-induced disasters.
The district has received an alert message from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, in the aftermath of increased level of waters in the rivers. The district continues to witness torrential rains since yesterday. Power supply and internet services have remained disrupted.
