43 new TB patients in Myagdi

GALESHWAR, May 19: Altogether 43 new patients of Tuberculosis or TB have been detected in Myagdi this year. During the diagnosis of TB patients in all the six local levels of the district, 43 people were found carrying the disease as of mid-April.

According to the Health Office, Myagdi, last year 56 people had undergone treatment for TB in the district. 'With majority of the people found suffering from lung s and neck-related ailments, there is possibility of detection of new TB patients,' Chief of the Office Bhim Prasad Acharya said.

Existing TB patients are also experiencing recurrence of the disease for not completing the required dose of the drug. As a result, stress has also been laid on public awareness programs, Supervisor at the Office Manish Mahato said.

A normal TB patient can be completed cured with regular medication for six months. The medication is provided free of cost by the government.  RSS
