BAGLUNG, March 24: World Tuberculosis (TB) Day 2024 is being observed in Nepal too by organizing various programs under the main theme of 'Yes! we can end TB'.

The World Health Organization’s Global Tuberculosis Report, released on October 17, outlines several positive trends in the battle against the world’s most deadly infectious disease.

KAILALI, Aug 29: In 2017, there were 29 tuberculosis cases in Masuriya, a village in Kailali district. The following year, this number reached 40.  The new TB patients have been found in the same localities where cases were seen some 18 years ago. Masuriya Health Post is alarmed at the spurt in TB cases within such a small population.

GALESHWAR, May 19: Altogether 43 new patients of Tuberculosis or TB have been detected in Myagdi this year. During the diagnosis of TB patients in all the six local levels of the district, 43 people were found carrying the disease as of mid-April.

BHAKTAPUR, Jan 21: The National Tuberculosis Centre (NTC) Bhaktapur has revealed that around 35,000 new patients of tuberculosis have been detected every year.

BHAKTAPUR, Dec 28: Madhyapur Thimi Municipality has sealed the under-construction building of Tuberculosis Hospital at Madhyapur Thimi-4.

KATHMANDU, March 25: On an average, 120 new cases of tuberculosis are detected in Nepal daily, despite the government's attempts to end the epidemic by 2035.
