KHOTANG, June 5: The provincial and federal elections were held months ago but five candidates of those elections in Khotang district have not submitted their election expense details till date.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Nationalist) candidate Mahesh Bastola, Mangol National Organization candidate Bir Lal Rai, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Democratic) candidate Dharma Raj Pokharel, Sanghiya Loktantrik Manch candidate Ganesh Bahadur Rai and Rastriya Janamukti Party candidate Gokarna Rai, all of whom participated in the November 26 elections last year, are yet to submit their election expenditure details, according to District Election Office, Khotang.

The candidates were actually supposed to submit the expenditure details within 35 days of publication of the election results. However, those five candidates have openly flaunted the provision.  During the last provincial and federal elections, the then CPN-UML candidate Rajan Rai from Constituency 1(a) and then CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Ram Kumar Rai (Passang) had won the elections in their respective constituencies.
