BUTWAL, April 7: The death toll in the vehicle accident that took place at Murgiya in Rupandehi district on Saturday morning has reached six.
According to the Area Police Office, Butwal, those killed in the jeep-bus collision are, Tikaram Chapagain and Jageshwar Chapagain of Dudhrakshya VDC-6, Deepak Pariyar and Kamal Pariyar of Gajedi-2, Rupandehi district and Deepesh Paudel and Radha Karki of Phedikhola, Syangja district.[break]
Seventeen people have been injured in the accident that took place at about six o´clock in the early morning.
Thirteen of them are receiving treatment at the Lumbini Zonal Hospital.
One among the seriously injured has been taken to Bharatpur and three others have been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment.
Five killed in Butwal accident
Five people have died and nearly a dozen others have been injured in a collision between a jeep and a bus at Murgiya Bazaar in Rupandehi district on Saturday morning.
Three people died on the spot and two others died while undergoing treatment at the Lumbini Zonal Hospital, the Area Police Office, Butwal stated. [break]
The jeep (registration plate number Lu 1 Ja 148) was heading towards the east when it collided head-on with the bus ( Ko 1 Kha 3195) on the East-West Highway at about six early morning.
The names and addresses of the accident victims are yet to be ascertained. Police and locals are rescuing the injured.
