PM calls on fellow leaders for timely statute

KATHMANDU, March 9: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said his government is willing to take initiatives for creating conducive atmosphere for the timely conclusion of the peace process and constitution writing.



Speaking at a program organized in the capital on Friday, PM Bhattarai said the twin tasks of peace and constitution are his government´s foremost priorities. [break]



He also called on all political leaders to work hard for the timely conclusion of the pending tasks in the remaining time rather than thinking of pushing the statute drafting deadline still further.



PM Bhattarai also said there is no alternative to the existing Constituent Assembly, adding that its dissolution would propel the country into a disaster.
