This time, many climbers stopped at the base camp as it took some time to prepare the route. Earlier, on May 23, 2019, a total of 354 people climbed Mt Everest on the same day.

Koirala said that the icefall doctors had completed the work of hanging the rope up to the summit of Mt Everest on Saturday. "Hundreds of climbers have gone towards the peak since the route was opened. As of Thursday, about 400 climbers have reached the summit. The ascent will continue for some time.”

Everest, the world's highest peak, has received the highest number of permits for this spring climb in its entire climbing history. On May 29, 1953, Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary climbed Mt Everest for the first time. Then the Mt Everest climbing journey started. According to the Department of Tourism, the highest numbers of climbers have received permission for this spring climb in the 70-year history of summiting Mt Everest.

Informing that there is more fascination for the mountains this time, Officer Koirala said that this has had a positive impact on the tourism sector. He said, "Mountain climbing is the most adventurous and sensitive work.”

This fascination for mountain climbing has added new energy to the tourism sector. When the world is in an economic crisis after Covid-19 pandemic, the attraction seen in climbing is a good thing for the country. This time, the largest numbers of climbers in history have taken permission to climb Mt Everest. This means that the highest revenue collection has also been collected. It has contributed to the entire country and the tourism sector.

Last Saturday at 1:52 pm, after a group of icefall doctors finished the work of hanging the rope to the top of Mt Everest, this spring climbing started. Nine Sherpas of Imagine Nepal Trek and Expedition Company, who were entrusted with making the trail for way above to the second camp of Everest, opened the way to the peak.

On May 7, 2022, icefall doctors prepared the way to reach the summit of Mt Everest. This time the route to the summit was opened six days later. Due to bad weather, the work of hanging the rope was delayed by a few days compared to last year.
