RAMECHHAP, Jan 12: Two people were killed and one other injured in a mini-truck accident in Pakarbas of Ramechhap district on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Dinesh Majhi and Kumar Majhi of Bhirpani VDC-1. According to the police, Dinesh and Kumar died on the spot while mini-truck driver Jugal Magar sustained serious injuries.
Injured Magar, who was taken to the district headquarters Manthali for treatment on the same night, is undergoing treatment at Tamakoshi Sahakari Hospital. The dead bodies have also been brought to Manthali for postmortem.
According to Prem Joshi, spokesperson of District Police Office, Ramechhap, the accident took place when the mini-truck, Ba 4 Kha 1755, carrying sand from Sunkoshi Bhirpani VDC to Galwa Bazaar veered off and fell some 100 meters down the road.
The cause behind the accident is yet to be investigated, said Joshi.
Earlier in the morning, two others died in a tipper accident in Ramechhap district taking the death toll to four. The deceased are Mohan Khadka and Ramesh Bamjan of Sindhuli district.
