KATHMANDU, April 9: Minister for Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST) Giriraj Mani Pokharel has said that new education act will be brought in a year.
Speaking at an interaction with the social development ministers and secretaries of the seven provinces in Kathmandu, Minister Pokharel said, "The old rules and regulations based on the 47-year-old Education Act will be replaced with a new education act next [Nepali] year."
The provincial ministers urged the MoEST to hand over universities, vocational institutions, National Examinations Board, resources and manpower to the provinces as per the spirit of the Constitution of Nepal.
