MAHOTTARI, April 5: Punam Devi Das, 25, of Matihani municipality-2 of Mahottari district was strangled to death.

“Das’s body was found packed on a jute sack on Wednesday morning along a roadside pit near Matihani municipality-4. Das was missing since early Monday morning” said Police Inspector Kedar Basnet of Mahottari.

Locals had informed police after they found her dead body.

 “Looking at the nature of the dead body, it seems as if she was beaten and strangled two days ago” added Inspector Basnet.

Police has arrested and is investigating Shivashankar Das Tatma, husband of the deceased.
