Those quitting the Maoist party to join UML are district and area committee members from Rautahat, Rukum and Parsa districts. Issuing a joint statement, the cadres joining the UML party said that they are quitting the largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA) because of its ideological deviation.
"A large of number of youths still in the Maoist party are in great frustration. They should be encouraged to join mainstream political parties so as to stop them from joining any of the armed groups operating in several parts of the country," said Dibya Sharma, former Maoist Bhojpura state sub-committee member, while speaking on behalf of all the new entrants to the UML.
The party also informed that at least 719 cadres from other political parties have lately joined the UML in Kalikot and Jumla, among other districts.
