Ten teams from the valley and two from outside the valley will be contending in the T20 tourney. The event, which is sponsored by KIST bank, will be played on a league basis: the teams will be divided into 4 groups, and the group leaders and runners up will qualify for the quarter finals. The finals will be held on May 16.
The wining team will receive a cash prize of Rs 25,000, while the runners up will get Rs 10,000. The Man of the Series will purse Rs 5,000. Similarly the best batsman and bowler will bag Rs. 3,000 each. Each Man-of-the-Match award winner will get Rs 500.
The tournament´s first edition, held in 2003, was won by Purwanchal University School of Engineering, while Himalayan White House Int´l College won three consecutive editions from 2004 to 2007. Classic College are the current champions having won the last edition in 2008.
