The deceased has been identified as Indrash, a seven-year-old son of Kariram Chamar of the northern Khutta Pipradi VDC-4 of the district, informed the District Police Office, Mahottari. [break]
The child died when he drowned after falling into the pond of Jibachha Saha, which is around 100 metres from Chamar’s house, according to the family sources.
None knew the incident in the beginning and later only villagers saw the child floating on the water.
The dead body was sent to zonal hospital last night for autopsy, informed Assistant Sub Inspector Gokarna Yana, who reached the incident site.
