Seven sent to jail for threatening businessmen

BARGACHHI, (Biratnagar), Oct 11: The District Administration Office (DAO), Morang has sent seven persons of a criminal gang to jail for their involvement in forcibly collecting donation from businesspersons in the name of various underground outfits.



A single bench of the Morang Chief District Officer (CDO) on Monday issued order to remand them to judicial custody.[break]



Those sent to custody are Ramchandra Mukhiya known to be Satyanarayan of Aurabani VDC-1 of Sunsari, Rameswor Mandal known to be Toofan of Itahari-6, Shyam Babu Kamat and Santosh Sharma of Biratnagar-16, Sunil Sahani, Niraj Mallik and Badal Mallik of Biratnagar-15.



A case of arms and ammunition was registered against them. CDO is chiefly responsible to look after such case.



Earlier too, the group had arbitrarily demanded donation by placing bomb at Drug Emporium of Hasraj Agrawal in Biratnagar-12.



Morang police was able to nab the racketeers after an investigation carried out acting on the complaint lodged by Agrawal.



Firstly police arrested Sunil Maharjan based on the mobile number used to issue threat to Agrawal and later brought other to its net.
