Speaking at a program organized in Chitwan by Press Chautari Nepal on Monday, Khanal said, “This government´s main responsibility is to conclude the peace process by taking the opposition parties in confidence. But there has been no achievement to date."[break]
He also opined that the task of promulgating the new constitution will be feasible only if parties can make progress on the peace process. Khanal added that there has been no concrete progress on the peace process as there is a majority government in power.
Khanal argued that a new consensus government could alone make progress on peace process and constitution drafting.
“The process of forming a fifth government based on political consensus will begin soon," Khanal announced. "The next government will be a consensual one," he said.
Incumbent govt to be retained, says senior leader Khanal
