KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Laxmi Cares is set to organize a music and slam poetry festival at Patan Museum on Friday, 23 September.

The event will raise funds for an audio book project by Bijay Dewan and Sagar Prasain.[break]

The audio book project is an initiative to help improve the education of visually impaired students all over Nepal.

Such students have been facing difficulties due to lack of textbooks in Braille scripts.

Therefore, the project aims at recording the lessons of the course in CDs which will enable the students to listen to the CDs in computer or other gadgets that support CDs.

It will be of a great help to such students since they are unable to record what they have learnt in class in the form of notes.

Artists like Yogeshwor Amatya, Tsujil Karmacharya, Albatross, Slam Poets, Himalayan Bob, Lyrics Indy, and Utsav Nepal will be taking on the stage at the festival.

“Several artists have agreed to perform without payment. Also, UNICEF has shown interest in the project,” informed Prasanna KC, Chairman, Laxmi Cares.

The event will start at 5:30pm. Ticket is priced Rs 500 each. For tickets, contact, Spundan Moktan: 9801014018 or Prasanna KC: 9801064787.
