ITAHARI, Aug 31: A man has hacked his mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law in Bhokraha, Sunsari Wednesday morning after his in-laws didn´t allow him to meet his wife who was staying with her parents for the last few days following a minor dispute with her husband.

Samsad Ansari, 25, of Ramnagar Bhutaha-1 hacked mother-in-law Rashida Khatun, 45, and Rijwana Khatun, 25, according to locals. Samsad is absconding after the incident while the Khatun duo is undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, the police said.[break]

Samsad, who had turned up in the morning of Eid on a motorcycle with a friend when there was no male in the house, attacked the duo with a spade after his mother-in-law did not allow him to meet his wife Gajala Khatun and asked him to come in the afternoon instead.

The Eid prayers of Muslims in Eidgaha of Bhokraha-2 were disrupted after Samsad indiscriminately hacked the two women. A few men first left the prayers following rumors of terror in the village and others followed suit.

Locals of Bhokraha and Ramnagar Bhutaha clashed later in the afternoon after men from Bhokraha went to Samsad´s village in search of the assailant, according to Astak Alam.

“The locals of Ramnagar Bhutaha made an announcement through the mike at Eidgaha urging the locals to retaliate against the Maoist assailants when around two dozens of us went there to search Samsad,” Alam explained.

Rizwan Ansari, Mobisa Alam and Samibh Alam of Bhokraha were injured during the clash which was doused only after police intervention.
