TANAHUN, Nov 4: At least 34 people were injured in a bus accident that took place this morning at Kamalbari of Vyas Municipality-12, Tanahun district, under the Prithvi Highway.
They were injured when the passenger bus (Na 5 Kha 1752) coming from Katari in Udayapur towards Pokhara went out of control and overturned.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Bahadur Khand said that the injured bus driver and passengers were rescued and sent to various hospitals.
Three killed in separate road accidents in Jhapa
The bus driver, 31-year-old Subhas Pariyar of District Udaipur Katari Municipality-3, co-driver Ashok Karki of Sunkosi Rural Municipality-7 in Okhaldhunga district, 23-year-old Yuvraj Pariyar of Udayapur Katari Municipality-4, 31-year-old Bikram BK of Bhanu Municipality-1 of Tanahun, 30-year-old Shobha Bishwakarma, four-year-old Sahara Century BK, 30-year-old Krishna Pariyar of Gorkha Municipality-3 in Gorkha and 29-year-old Parbati Rawat of Udayapur Katari Municipality-14 were injured.
Similarly, 33-year-old Bishnu Pariyar of Sindhuli Dudhauli Municipality-12, seven-year-old Avinam Ale Magar of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality-16 of Kaski, 30-year-old Bimala Shrestha, 10-year-old Ankit Shrestha and 15-year-old Aakash Shrestha were also injured.
37-year-old Sujan Adhikari of Shuklagandaki Municipality-9 of Tanahun, 23-year-old Sumitra Adhikari of Bhanu Municipality-2, 14-year-old Chizmaya Khatri of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality of Kaski, 20-year-old Sujita Sherpa of Dhanusha, 22-year-old Dinesh Dahal, 60-year-old Manmaya Tamang of Udayapur Municipality- 35-year-old Binod Giri of 9, 34-year-old Buddhimaya Adhikari of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality-31 of Kaski and 40-year-old Shiva Kumal of Palungtar Municipality-7 of Gorkha are also among the injured.
According to the police, 14-year-old Deepsan Raut of Udaipur Katari Municipality-4, 10-year-old Krishna Shah of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality-19, Kaski, 19-year-old Neha Shah, 28-year-old Tulsimaya Magar of Udayapur Katari Municipality-5, 40-year-old Bindu Sunuwar of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality-14, 17-year-old Sujan Tiwari of Chitwan Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality-10, 17-year-old Amrit Rana Magar of Sarlahi Bagmati Municipality-1, 24-year-old Nirmala Nepali of Dhurkot Rural Municipality-3 of Gulmi, 71-year-old Mankumari Katwal of Itahari Municipality-2, Bhanu Municipality-6 of Tanahun 25-year-old Sujata Adhikari, 15-year-old Anish Thapa of Godar Municipality-7 of Dhanusha and 18-year-old Sarla Sunar of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality-14 were also injured.
Some of the injured have been discharged after treatment while some are undergoing treatment in Pokhara and Damauli.
