Amid a program organized at Army Headquarters on Friday, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal felicitated Hari Devi Rimal, on behalf of Gopal Prasad Rimal, and Gurung with Honorary Colonel ranks, cap and appreciation letter.[break]
Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Chhatra Man Singh Gurung also honored the two artists giving Rs 200,000 each. NA also felicitated Fatteman Rajbhandari, contributing singer for the army song, with national dress, cap, coat and appreciation letter with Rs. 100,000.
Speaking at the felicitation program, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal said that the army song “Rato Ra Chadra Surya” was perfect song for the NA. “The Army song has taught us to respect our history and brought a sense of integrity in the nation.” Khanal added.
Commenting on the recent political development, Khanal said that he stepped down from his post for unity and consensus. “I resigned from the post to bring about consensus among the parties on major agendas.”
He also said that the main tasks before the political parties are to take the peace process to a logical end and promulgate new constitution.
