Six injured in ambulance-truck collision

CHITWAN, July 29: Six persons have been injured after an ambulance and a truck collided and fell 200 meters down on the bank of Trishuli River on Friday morning.



Three among the six have been critically wounded.[break]



A truck (Na 3 Kha 6605) en-route to Kathmandu from Narayangadh collided with the ambulance (Sa 1 Cha 682) coming from Kathmandu near Darechowk-2 Chumlingtar, informed District Police Office, Chitwan.



Harikrishna Ghimire, 20 of Makwanpur and ambulance driver Rajkumar Shah have been sent to the capital after a preliminary treatment at the community hospital at Gajuri, informed Muglin police.



Umesh Kumar Shah, 25, Ashok Yadav, 25 of Siraha, Ishwor Sigdel, 16 and Shivaji Raut of Manhari, Makwanpur are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Medical College.



Truck driver Uttam Ghimire has been on the run since the accident while a passenger has been missing, informed the police.
