MURABARI(MIRCHAIYA), APRIL 14: As New Year 2074 BS ushers in, 33 Musahar families living at Murabari of Mirchaiya, Siraha district are overjoyed at receiving such food items as rice, cereals, vegetables and grain powder.
Bijay Bahadur Mali . chairman of Kathmandu-based Chhetrapati Nishulk Chikitsalaya(CNC) provided them with these food items on the occasion of New Year 2074 BS. In addition to food items, the 33 Musahar families received containers used to keep water in.
Biting cold afflicts Musahar people
After receiving sarbotam pitho(nutritious grain powder made for babies) , Dashani, a local of Murabari, asked, Which biscuit is this?. Mali replied that it was Sarbotam Pitho.
Totally unaware of the fact that grain power designated for babies is available, Dashani asked another question: Is there separate grain powder for babies? After Mali told her about the steps involved in cooking that powder, she replied that she did not know about the grain powder before.
A team led by Mali provided each of those families with 30 kg rice, 10 kg grain powder, 5 kg potato, 1 kg onion and 5 kg cereals. Mali was full of tears while distributing those items.
"I was saddened by the news published in Nagarik and Republica. After I read that news, I could not control myself emotionally. We have arrived in this Musahar settlement due to that news", said .Mali.
