No irregularities in funds, CoAS to PAC

KATHMANDU, July 10: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Chhatraman Singh Gurung, claimed that there had been no irregularities in the operation of the Army Welfare Fund.



While furnishing clarification in a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Legislature-Parliament convened on Sunday he claimed that the army funds has been used in a transparent manner.[break]



He also maintained that Nepal Army had been submitting its reports on army funds activities to the PAC in an annual basis and that the welfare fund had not been misused.



Senior army and government officials were present at the meeting.



It has been learned that PAC also inquired about the current activities in which the welfare fund is being used.
