KATHMANDU, May 23: The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed 32 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday morning.
According to the joint spokesperson for the ministry, Sameer Adhikari, eight persons from Banganga Municipality in Kapilvastu district - seven males (aged 17, 19, 22, 29, 35, 40 and 42) and a 27-year old female - were diagnosed with this disease. Their swab samples tested positive at the Kathmandu-based National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL).

Similarly, 13 males (three each aged 20, two each aged 26 and 35, one each aged 18, 21, 22, 23, 28 and 33) from Godautha Kabilasi Municipality of Sarlahi, a 37-year-old female from Karaiyamai Rural Municipality of Bara and a 35-year-old male from Kathmandu also tested positive for this virus at NPHL, according to the ministry.
Eight male patients (two aged 20 each, 24 and 30, one each aged 27 and 55) of Gaidahawa and Rohini Rural Municipality in Rupandehi district also contracted the virus. Their tests were conducted at the Bhairahawa-based Provincial lab. Another 52-year-man from Bharatpur-6, Chitwan was also diagnosed with this disease at Bharatpur-based COVID-19 lab.
With this, the national COVID-19 tally has soared to 548.
