NEPALGUNJ, June 21: Chairman of Madheshi Janadhikar Forum (Ganatantrik) Jaya Prakash Gupta said national consensus has remained elusive because of the non-implementation of the five-point agreement.

Addressing a press meet organized in Nepalgunj on Tuesdy, he urged the government and the parties to implement the pact.[break]

The country has been trapped in anarchy and impunity because of the tendency of forming paramilitary forces by political parties, he said.

In another context, he said his party was against carving out states on the basis of ethnicity. States should be formed on the basis of their economic viability and identity, he said.

Replying a query of journalists, he claimed that the Madhesi community has been kept away from national mainstream politics and such a tendency will weaken nationality.
