“The exhibition will showcase school-level and college-level science projects, health research, microbiological projects and environment related projects,” said Je Surendra Shrestha, president of Lubhu Jaycees.[break]
As of now 62 school teams and 20 colleges are participating in the exhibition.
The school teams are competing for first, second, third and consolation prizes of Rs 7000, Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 1500 respectively.
The most popular science project will also be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1000.
There are also shields, medals, and other gift hampers. The winners will be selected by audience voting. The colleges will only demonstrate their science projects.

Apart from the prizes the students from the five teams will be provided with scholarships for their further studies at the 20 participating colleges.
The students will also be provided with scholarships for computer classes and bridge course.
They will also be provided free membership at Lubhu Jaycees.
“The science projects that are useful in Nepal and awareness related projects have been given priority,” Shrestha added.
Lubhu Jaycees and Lubhu Junior Jaycees have been organizing various programs in different sectors such as health camps, friendly football matches, inter-school quiz co mpetitions and art competitions.
“Last year about 12000 visitors visited the exhibition and we hope the visitor count will cross 20,000 this year,” said Shrestha.
Along with the science exhibition, an art exhibition will also be conducted at the event.
The event is sponsored by Orion Institute, Kumaripati, Lalitpur and supported by PABSON Lalitpur, PABSON Bhaktapur, HISSAN Lalitpur, Science Teachers’ Association Nepal (STAN) Lalitpur and Lubhu Mahalakshmi Kapada Udyog Sangh.
The entrance for the exhibition is free for all.
