A brace from Bimal Gharti and a goal each from Shiva Subedi and Nishant Dungana helped Butwal Elite seal the match. Man-of-the-match Gharti scored a goal in each half. Gharti gave Butwal lead in the fourth minute of the game and scored his second goal in 44th minute of the game. Subedi scored in the 22nd minute and Dhungana scored in the 28th minute.
Two disqualified teams, Everest School from Sarlahi and Adarsha Bidhya Mandir from Kaski were allowed to play a knockout match in the tournament.
Everest School defeated Adarsh 3-0 and bagged a purse of Rs 15,000 while the runner-up received Rs 10,000.
When asked about the match between the two disqualified teams, vice-coordinator of the tournament Mahesh Shrestha said that the match was played after the organizer PABSON reached a mutual understanding with the representatives of the disqualified teams.
Ideal, Dreamland into quarters
KATHMANDU: Ideal English School and Dreamland school fixed their place in the quarterfinals of the 6th SNB Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament on Wednesday winning their respective matches at the Engineering Ground, Pulchowk.
Dreamland won the match by 17 runs against Galaxy through the parabola method as the match was disturbed by rain while Ideal registered a three-wicket victory over Deep Jyoti. Winning the toss, Deep Jyoti opted to bat first and scored 73 runs off 13.4 overs losing all wickets. Darshan Chalise took five wickets in four overs for Ideal. Anish Pathak was the highest scorer with eight runs.
Ideal crossed the target in 18.5 overs losing seven wickets. Pratik Thakuri scored 12 runs for the winning team while Bhaskar Amagai and Santosh Parajuli took two wickets each.
Meanwhile, Dreamland scored 97 runs in 20 overs. Sushant Pun scored 24 runs off 40 balls. Aditya Pandey took four wickets and Pasanh Sherpa and Saugat Biset shared two wickets each for Galaxy. Rain played the spoilsport for Galaxy as it halted the game in 11.3 overs when Galaxy needed 61 runs to win. Dreamland was announced the winner.
