302 Families removed from forest

KANCHANPUR, June 7: Kanchanpur District Forest Office demolished the huts and removed 302 families from the Hariyali Community Forest in Krishnapur-4 of Kanchanpur district on Sunday.



The huts were erected in the name of squatters.[break]



The DFO demolished the huts and removed the families of the forest encroachers with the support of police, forest security officials and forest users.



The huts were destroyed with the support of the local forest users after the encroachers did not remove them despite repeated notices for the same, according to forest officer Ramesh Chand.



Around 50 hectares of community forest area was encroached in the district. Earlier, forest security officials had removed around 350 families from Dilasaini community forest area.
