Tibetan refugees had staged protests in the capital to commemorate the day on which China sent its troops into Tibet.
According to CDO Dhakal, decisions on the remaining 30 Tibetans in detention would be taken on Thursday after a screening of their profiles. Police had picked up 13 demonstrators at Bauddha, 14 at Hattisar and 3 in Gongabu on Wednesday.
A French girl wearing a ´Free Tibet´ t-shirt was also arrested at Baudhha but was released after a few hours as she claimed to have demonstrated unknowingly, said DSP Govinda Pariyar at Bauddha police station.
The Tibetans demonstrated almost the whole day inside Bauddha Monastery but were deterred by police from coming out into the streets. Police resorted to baton charge a couple of times to disperse the demonstrators.

Similarly, nearly two dozen people demonstrated aggressively at Hattisar nearby the Chinese consular office in the afternoon and police forced many of them into a van for detention. A demonstrator injured himself when his leg was run over by a police van in the melee.
Thinley Gatso, the Dalai Lama´s Nepal representative who was briefed by the local administration on the eve of the Tibet ´Uprising anniversary´, presided over rituals at Samdeling Monastery on Wednesday morning.
Earlier, in a statement after the meeting with CDO Dhakal, he had urged fellow refugees to adopt peaceful measures and not to hurt the sensitivities of the host country.
Despite Gatso´s appeal, the Tibetans, who were also accompanied by a good number of foreign nationals, took to protests, raising the ´Free Tibet´ slogan and scuffling with police.
